sunday morning stroll

It’s still winter in SF. But at least the sun is out (and it’s not raining) so the hubby and I decided to take a stroll around our neighborhood today. Here are some quick snaps from our morning walk.

What I wore today:

Why I love it:

  • layers upon layers
  • comfy skinny cargo pants
  • tomboy chic (can we say man repeller?)

wine country

The hubby and I enjoyed a relaxing 2 days in wine country! We stayed at the lovely and intimate Cottage Grove Inn in Calistoga where we took advantage of the complimentary breakfast and wine and cheese tasting in the evenings. We strolled along downtown and visited many consignment vintage shops. We also pampered ourselves with some mud baths and massages at Lavender Hill spa. We did a little wine tasting at Wine Garage and Heitz Cellar. And we enjoyed wonderful meals at Cook (delicious ribeye steak), Cindy’s Backstreet Kitchen (splendid papaya and avocado salad), Sol Bar (tasty sardine appetizer and sea bass), and Bottega (yummy “polenta under glass” appetizer and magnifico spaghetti alla chitarra with white gulf prawns). Oh and some sweet satisfaction including macarons (of course) at Bouchon Bakery (yes, we came here twice in 2 days!).

Hope you had as much fun as we did during the long weekend!

craving caramel

Happy birthday to my deadpanning partner, my guy who wears patterned socks, my best friend! To celebrate, we enjoyed a carnivorous dinner at HOPR!

What I wore today:

Why I love it:

  • ultra soft (!!!) faux fur wrap scarf
  • the coat’s loose fit and bracelet length sleeves
  • caramel instead of camel

Once again, I must give a shout out and big thanks to my co-worker Steven for taking these pics!

kiss kiss

Happy Valentine’s Day! I heart SF even in the rain.

So this will be the hubby and my 4th Valentine’s together. To uncelebrate, we agreed to a home-cooked meal minus overpriced flowers. But “Kiss Kiss” (or as my cutie patutie LA friend would say “Buss Buss“) to some Kara’s cupcakes!

Oh and what do you think of our take of the “Sixteen Candles” photo? We are  such silly posers!!!

What I wore today:

  • red “Kiss Kiss” sweater (I purchased this sweater in a night market in Thailand but it looks like a Markus Lupfer knock off!)
  • tuxedo-stripe khakis by Old Navy
  • black ballet pumps by Chanel
  • vintage black cashmere military-style coat by Yohji Yamamoto

Why I love it:

  • red is the color of love
  • black sequin lettering
  • coat with 3/4 sleeves!

twilight

I decided to wear this DVF print dress today as I brace myself for the upcoming week of non-stop rain in SF. I guess it’s still not Spring yet! 😉

What I wore today:

Why I love it:

  • dress with pockets!
  • my Cartier tank watch
  • vintage jean jacket

green day

It may not be Spring yet but I’m ready for St Patty’s day with my kelly green pants! And you thought pink was only the bright pants I own? Try again.

Why I love it:

  • camel and green combo
  • peep toe pumps
  • pearl necklace and vintage bangle

Thanks to Steven Yan for photographing my look today using my camera (still no fancy lens).

boy meets girl

A quick lunch time photo shoot at SF City Hall. I love the trees that line the front of the building — they remind me of Joshua trees.
