Apparently we skipped Spring and went right into Summer in SF today! I’m not complaining 🙂

city by the bay

Spring in SF? Could it be? After countless gloomy days, it was refreshing to see the sun again! The hubby and I enjoyed a lunch break at the Ferry Building followed by a quick photo shoot. How I love this city by the bay!

What I wore today:

Why I love it:

something borrowed

I love raiding my mom’s closet and “borrowing” bags and vintage designer clothing from her. But what about borrowing some items from the hubby? Yup, that’s what I did today! His Breitling and Ray Bans were the perfect additions to my outfit 🙂 What do you think?

What I wore today:

Why I love it:

  • tomboy chic
  • comfy kicks
  • navy and pink combo

industrial wasteland

SF folks, have you ever heard of Warm Water Cove Park? Yeah neither have I. But today the hubby decided to check it out and have our photo shoot there. Unfortunately there were no abandon tires as those would’ve made for a cool backdrop. After a few snaps, we headed to the Mission for a double date dinner at Beretta with one of our favorite couples. If you ever make your way there, you must order the panna gelato with extra virgin olive oil and sea salt for dessert. It’s addicting!

What I wore today:

Why I love it:

  • metallic gold stripes down the sides of the pants!
  • pave cable links
  • chunky and oversize knitted infinity scarf

visiting lombard st

It’s been raining like crazy in SF. Luckily we caught a break on late Sunday afternoon so the hubby and I decided to be tourists for the day. We made our way to Russian Hill and visited Lombard St or better known as “the crookedest street in the world.” Apparently we should’ve signed up for the Segway tour (see photo below) instead of our own walking tour 😉

Well, hope you enjoy our sightseeing photos from today (somewhere between Hyde and Leavenworth St)!

What I wore today:

Why I love it:

  • Acne jeans (perfect fade, no outer seam and a higher rise with a little stretch)
  • confetti sequin on my sweater!
  • short sleeve wrap coat

life is sweet

Mondays mean my weekly lunch date with the hubby! And today we opted for Delica at the Ferry Building and vegan donuts at Pepples. But no trip to the Ferry Building is complete unless there’s a stop at the very charming pastry shop, Miette Patisserie! I love that it’s modern, cheerful and always sweet — just like me, right?! 🙂

What I wore today:

Why I love it:

  • sporting a men’s watch
  • sleeveless(!) trench coat
  • heather grey, black and tan combo

blue skies

The hubby and I enjoyed this photo shoot along China Basin Park because of the incredibly blue skies above us and the clear view of the SF ballpark (home of the 2010 World Series Champions SF Giants!)

I also got a kick out of a passerby shouting “Look like a movie star!” as I was being photographed to which I then said “More like a rock star!” He quickly responded “Even better!” 🙂

What I wore today:

  • Marc by Marc Jacobs jean jacket
  • heather grey cashmere henley sweater by Alexander Wang
  • pull-on skinny cargo pants by Gap in moss green
  • fox fur vest by Adrienne Landau
  • nude pink pumps by Amaya

Why I love it:

  • my favorite jean jacket that I will never part with!
  • the side pockets on those cargo pants
  • cashmere and fur

brick and concrete

One of my favorite areas of SF is the historic Jackson Square with its premier art and antique stores so the hubby and I decided to venture out there today for a quick photo shoot. Enjoy!

What I wore today:

Why I love it:

  • trench cape
  • soft gray knit beanie
  • stripes!

leopard, lace and military

Today I had lunch with an old co-worker. I was looking forward to this lunch date since it had been quite some time since our last outing. Anyways, when we met, she immediately told me how much she enjoys my fashion blog — so much that her man even knows about my blog! It’s moments like these that make me smile inside and so motivated to continue this thing called “blogging about what I wore today.”

I heart you Kim. I heart your boyfriend too! Now tell him to subscribe 🙂

What I wore today:

Why I love it:

  • combo of delicate lace with masculine military
  • a giraffe pendant! (I found this bad boy at the J.Crew outlet in Napa)
  • vintage Lanvin leopard print bag (a steal at Jeremy’s!!!)

Thanks to co-worker and photographer Steven Yan for taking these pictures today using your awesome lens (again!). In fact, many of you have said that you really like his photos. Check back soon as I will post his website when it’s available.

my cerise amore

Folks that know me, know that I adore clothes designed by Phillip Lim. His womenswear has been described as “girlish refinement and laid-back ease with moments of quirky romance.” Love that!

Lucky for me, I got to meet the designer himself back in September 2006 at the SF Nordstrom in Westfield mall. I’ll never forget that moment. I was so nervous about the photo opp (as you can see below) but so happy that he kindly obliged. Unfortunately the Via C staffer who took the photo didn’t have a very steady hand as the picture is a bit blurry 😉 And in case you weren’t sure, yes, I was definitely wearing Phillip Lim when I met him.

Anyways, to celebrate the arrival of Spring, today’s look is a tribute to Phillip Lim and his ability to combine 2 of my favorite things: blazers and the color pink!

What I wore today:

Why I love it:

  • hot pink!
  • gold hardware
