eat the street

I love my Monday lunch dates with the hubby. I was so excited about Le Truc from last week that I wanted to take him there today. And we had a little fashion shoot on the way there and on the bus (of course!) 😉

What I wore today:

Why I love it:

  • silky oversized blouse
  • layering
  • jeggings!

rainy sunday

Yes it’s true, the rain is back in SF. So to take some shelter, the hubby and I visited the SF MOMA and really enjoyed the “Wine Becomes Modern” exhibit. But first we had some Mexican grub for brunch at Papalote.

What I wore today:

Why I love it:

  • classic trench with a twist
  • some sequin and shimmer
  • bat wings!

mall rat

I started my Saturday morning by meeting a friend for a styling session at Nordstrom in the SF Westfield Mall. I ended my Saturday evening by watching a movie with the hubby at Century Theaters in the SF Westfield Mall. I was definitely a mall rat today.

What I wore today:

Why I love it:

  • bright pants
  • fur vest
  • vintage pieces (necklace, bracelet, bag)

hot pants

I was a little depressed today when I heard that there could be a chance of showers in the weekend forecast. After a wonderful week of sunny skies in SF, I was beginning to think it was actually Spring in January. My recent outfits probably convey my excitement for Spring too with the bright hues. And a girl can’t just have one pair of pink pants, she needs at least two 😉 I salivated when I read this Oh Joy post on slim-legged bright pants from Zara and immediately snagged a pair (though I really do love ALL the colors)!

What I wore today:

Why I love it:

  • slim fitted pants
  • hot pink and leopard print
  • vintage flower pin

Thanks to my colleague Steven for putting up with my camera and taking these cool shots. Next time, we’ll use his fancy camera!

some cheerful cords and some polka dots

Today my buddy Jenny introduced me to a new lunch spot called Le Truc. It’s a classy food truck that serves tasty sandwiches with seating on the “bus.” And now I’m hooked! Coincidentally the Food Network was supposed to be there but they hadn’t shown up yet.

What I wore today:

Why I love it:

  • wedges add 3 more inches to my height!
  • coral cords and polka dot top
  • cheerful brights and prints

Thanks to Jenny for taking the photos of me at Le Truc and to Jacob for the ones of me on our building roofdeck!

khaki rose

Tonite, the hubby and I decided NOT to dine at our weekly establishment, the Happy Cafe. Why not? Because we actually needed a break from it!

Instead, we had a wonderful meal at Bar Jules in Hayes Valley, one of my favorite areas in SF.

On a totally unrelated note, we just updated our company team page to include the I-didn’t-dress-nice-today-but-we-are-still-taking-a-group-photo photo. Don’t ask me why I had to be the one to sit on the chair like that. 😉

But the headshot of me was taken on this day. Yes, I really do have a B.S. and M.S. in EE. And yes, I am a gEEk at heart!

What I wore today:

Why I love it:

  • fall colors – burgundy and browns
  • rosette flower pin
  • big carryall leather bag

Thanks again Jacob for helping me scout a new photo shoot location (even though our CEO was an onlooker) and taking these fantastic pics!

legion of honor

I’m always amazed by the beauty of the Golden Gate bridge (both its structure and its color) and there’s even a great view of it from the Legion of Honor museum. And yes, in honor of the GG bridge, the tomahto cords are back!

What I wore today:

Why I love it:

  • colorful printed heels
  • hot tomahto!
  • vintage accents

whimsical

Isn’t there just something cute about fashionistas on wheels especially bicycles?

For this week’s lunch date, the hubby and I decided to grab some grub at none other than Velo Rouge Cafe. It seemed rather appropriate given my ensemble today. If time was not an issue, I would have suggested La Bicyclette in Carmel. Oh well, c’est la vie!

What I wore today:

Why I love it:

  • gold metal hardware
  • whimsical fashion
  • lighthearted message inside jacket “I believe in cheap and chic by Moschino”

you say tomato, I say tomahto

Another sunny Sunday! That means a trip to the Ferry Building for some grub (lunch at La Mar) and food shopping (a 100% organic and vegan donut at Pepples and Acme bread, please!) in my tomahto colored pants. And you thought pink was loud 😉

Followed by an amazing Spruce burger for dinner to celebrate my Dad’s 65th birthday!

What I wore today:

Why I love it:

  • comfy cords in a cheerful color
  • bright colors making me wish for springtime
  • ruffle and patent flats

white rose

What do rose colors mean? I know that red represents love and romance but what about a white rose? Thank goodness for Google:

A white rose symbolizes innocence and purity. When combined with red roses, it represents unity.”

I wonder what it represents when it’s combined with a zebra print and bright pink pants? 😉

Happy Saturday! I started the day off by spending some quality girlie time…brunch with my gal pals Jennifer and Linda followed by a fun Stella & Dot jewelry trunk show party at a friend’s house (Thanks Tiffany for the invite). But the fun didn’t stop there as the hubby and I spent the evening enjoying a homemade tapas dinner prepared by one of my co-workers along with LOTS of wine and cheese.

What I wore today:

Why I love it:

  • roses are not always red
  • pop of zebra print
  • pink, pink, pink pants!

Thanks to my darling friend Jen for taking these “blurry” artistic photos at awesome angles (first 2 pictures below). Unfortunately neither of us knew how to adjust from manual focus to automatic focus 😉
